The Mitchells Plain Academy of Music and Arts has formed a partnership with
Stellenbosch University.
PREAMBLE:

The purpose of the agreement is to define the basis for collaboration between the two parties, the Certificate Programme and MPAMA, in the areas of music tuition and other related activities.
GEOGRAPHICAL AREA:

Learners from Mitchells Plain, Standfontein, Khayaletsha and immediate surrounds.
VENUE:
-
Teaching will take place at Lantana Primary School primarily on Saturdays, at 10:30 till 13:30.
AGE OF THE LEARNERS:
-
There will be no age restriction, but the right of admission will be determined by the coordinator of MPAMA and the following will serve as guidlines for acceptance into the programme at MPAMA:

Age 7 - 9: Strings, piano, recorder

Age10 upwards - any instrument
-
Older members of the community - any age and instrument
PARAMETRES OF THE PARTNERSHIP:

Access to Stellenbosch University (SU) literature.

Access to Certificate Programme Partners e.g South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and Cape Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (CPYO) as future applicants.

Access to concerts at the KONSERVATORIUM.

Access to festivals and workshops at the KONSERVATORIUM and elsewhere the Certificate Programme is involved.

Knowledge - Syllabi and methodology of the Certificate Programme.

Information - Content of music theory and practical modules.

Assessment procedures will be applied as agreed upon by both parties.

Certification: Members will receive Certificates bearing logos of MPAMA and the Community Interaction Division SU
